No, I cant put pictures on my blog. Not of my family. I just - can't.
I have a facebook account, which is entirely private. I put photos on that.
I choose whom I allow to see them. I have even logged out of facebook
occasionally, typed my name into google to see how much of my profile
I can see. You can find ME but you can SEE nothing about me. I am happy
about that. I am big on protecting my families privacy. So I cannot cope
with pictures of my family on a public forum, in a public profile. Which
anyone can see.
My main reason for this is that the world is full of all kinds of people, good
bad and downright disgusting. I would hate to imagine that my kids were
exposed to that kind of scrutiny.
Another reason for this is also the reason I have decided to nickname my
family, because if some person who would or could mean a lot to my kids
be it a future boss, spouse, friend, whatever, ever found out I had a blog
from when they were little kids, and were to look back and read it, by them
all being nicknamed and there being no pictures they can claim that the
person found the wrong blog, or that that was not them, but a sibling. In
other words they can maintain their anonymity. Even nicknamed, anyone
looking them up in the future could recognise them in the photos and that's
the end of that.
So in conclusion, if you need photos, this is not the blog for you, I may
occasionally upload pictures, but they will not be photos of my family. The only
photo you will see is the one on my background, which is reasonably
unrecognisable, and in fact is only there till I figure out what I want to put on
my background instead. I am still thinking.
